Daft Punk‘s new album has brought with it a whirlwind of speculations and a lot of impatience. Dropping one little clue at a time, they seem to be setting up a paper trail to one grand launch, and rightfully so. Having started with the Le Parisien article earlier this year, there was s social media riot following their website update and the SNL advert. However, this seems to be a concrete insight into the confirmation of an upcoming idea of bliss!
All of the little clues here and there finally consolidate into a definite conclusion; one that assures the world that Daft Punk is coming back with 13 tracks spanning roughly 74 minutes. Thanks to a tweet from @EDM, we can now coax ourselves to wait a little further for the album. The new album has been officially registered with PPL with rights held by Sony Music Entertainment UK (PPL issues licences to hundreds of thousands of businesses and organisations from all sectors across the UK playing recorded music and/or music videos in public).
A search on PPL’s website will reveal a complete list of Daft Punk’s tracks, with Page 11 bearing the details of the 2013 album. The ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) gives a more direct perspective. Dancing Astronaut has explained it beautifully- “Track 1 is listed as USQX91300101: US for United States; QX9, Sony’s registrant code; 13 for 2013; and 00101 is the unique 5-digit number to identify the recording.”
We’re hoping it won’t be too long from here on..
