Review: Fedde Le Grand @ Pacha, New York, NY | March 2nd 2013 |

Fedde Le Grand made a stop over to Pacha New York as part of his “Road To Ultra” tour. After killing it the night before at Revel in Atlantic City, it was the turn of New York to get a taste of some Dutch magic.
Team Bangin Beats reached at the venue right around 12:45 a.m. and got to know that Fedde will be starting his 3-hour set at around 1 a.m.
An interesting thing we immediately noticed about the venue was that Pacha has set up a multi-colored staircase (picture below) leading up to the VIP area. The unique thing about this was that it changes it’s color based on the music being played by the artist.
Fedde took over from Pacha regular DJ Gian and simply mesmerized the entire club with his monster beats. He stayed true to his roots by giving the crowd a taste of his classics like “So Much Love”, “Sparks” and his remix of Coldplay’s “Paradise”.
My pick of the night were two interesting moments. The first one was that knowing the fact that the SHM crew had taken over the NYC area (they had back to back 5 shows), Fedde gave the crowd exactly what they wanted by paying to a tribute to the Swedes.
Just after the hour mark, he played the mash-up of Sebastian Ingrosso and Tommy Trash’s “Reload” with SHM’s Save The World” acapella. This literally had the crowd singing the lyrics with their arms in the air.
The second moment was when Fedde brought back the good old times by playing the track that brought him in the limelight – “Put Your Hands Up For Detroit” by giving us the build up of it and then out of nowhere dropping Steve Angello’s “Knas” right at the end.
Trust us when we say this – the place was simply going nuts at that time!
Fedde also premiered his new remix of “Glowing” by Nikki Williams and also gave us a sneak preview of his recent collaboration with Sultan and Ned Shepard “Long Way From Home”.
Just as he was finishing up his set, we had Sultan and Ned Shepard taking over for the next 2 hours and simply making it a night to remember for all the EDM fanatics in the club.
Overall, Fedde was remarkable as ever and gave us a taste of what to expect when he takes over the stage at Ultra Music Festival on March 15th, 2013
On another note, I am glad to see team Ultra’s concept of “Road To Ultra” come through. Not only do fans get to see their favorite artists playing in their hometown but they also get a taste of the madness of the main festival.
A big shout out goes to the Media team of Charlotte, Trica and Todd at Pacha, New York for playing super hosts and making sure that we had an excellent experience!
