Tomorrowland UNITE Stage In Barcelona Catches Massive Fire, 22,000 Attendees Evacuated!

In an unfortunate turn of events, Tomorrowland UNITE’s Barcelona edition had to shut down its proceedings quickly after its stage caught fire. With almost 22,000 people in attendance who had gathered to watch the live stream of Day 2 festivities from the second weekend of the Boom-based festival, the authorities successfully managed to evacuate the crowd from the Parc de Can Zam venue. As per eyewitnesses, the stage was engulfed in flames during a fireworks display. While an official confirmation by the festival organisers is yet to surface, an official statement was released by Tomorrowland soon after regarding the mishap which read:

“Tonight, July 29th 2017, the UNITE Barcelona stage caught fire due to a technical malfunction. Thanks to the professional intervention of the authorities all 22.000 visitors were evacuated safely and without reports of injuries. Authorities will follow up and continue the investigation with the local Spanish organizer of UNITE.”
