Read on.

TBB: Your musical palate features a range of sounds which vary right from techno, tech-house to progressive house. Can you talk to us about the creative process behind your productions?

Guy Mantzur: During the years I found out that the best way for me to look at music is to do it from a place without boundaries, genres and titles and that’s what leading me in the production process. I have all the colours I want so I can paint what ever comes to my head. While working in the studio, I try to clear my mind from thoughts about “what genre it is”, or “if it can be enough good and get into the charts”. I’m just looking for this vibe that will excite me, that specific paint that will feed my soul.

TBB: The underground dance music scene in Israel is much talked about all around the world. How did your first contact with the entire phenomenon come about? Did you firstly get into producing electronic music or DJing?

Guy Mantzur: The Israeli scene is really amazing and special. There are so many talented artists that I know and I keep finding out about new artists all the time. For me it started first as an producer and then DJing. I was producing live music, chill out and trip hop and did some albums in this genre in my early days. Later on I started to DJ as well as up my BPM

TBB: Your friendship with Guy J alongside with rest of the crew from the Tel Aviv scene goes back a long way. What are your thoughts on him?

Guy Mantzur: Besides being one of the DJs and producers I love the most, he is really one of my best friends. We share so many great things together beside music, I think that’s what makes the music connection even stronger.

TBB: Which artists have you been digging lately? Any one in particular listeners should watch out for?

Guy Mantzur: There are a lot of great artists. I really love David August and I think his productions and his recent live sets are something really fresh and important. I also love Acid Pauli, Cornucopia, Dmitry Molosh, and Guy J keeps on rocking as always. I had a chance to hear his latest works and its breathless!  Khen, another dear friend also did just an amazing album for Lost & Found. I will play some of the tracks in my sets in India so you can hear this beauty yourself.

TBB: It seems like the Indian audience just can’t enough of you. Fresh off your recent countrywide tour, you’re back again with a grander scheme in store. What’s your connect like with the Indian subcontinent?

Guy Mantzur: I have always had strong connection with India , even before I related this to music and preforming, i traveled all over India for long months and discovered some of the most beautiful places , people , colors & food , in general it was something that got really deep into my heart and helped shape my soul in a way. Now every time I’m come back to India I feel that strong connection to this place , add to this the amazing crowd and scene that blows you away and at the moment you find magic!

TBB: While the hype for the Guy J b2b Guy Mantzur performance has been immensely real, what can the Indian audience expect?

Guy Mantzur: We both are really excited and we just talked this morning about the tour and made some plans, both musical and experimental plans. I know for sure that we both are going to play a lot of our unreleased music and the latest stuff that we love

TBB: Lastly, what can we expect from Guy Mantzur for the rest of 2016? Any upcoming originals or remixes in store?

Guy Mantzur: Right now I’m working more on solo originals of Guy Mantzur. I have an EP of 2 originals that will be released on my label Plattenbank at the end of this year. I have just released a single on the Lost & Found label, called ‘Children With No Name’, together with my dear friends Khen & Kamila , this is the first single out from Khen’s amazing album . I have also made a remix for Audio Jack, together with Roy Rosenfeld and I am planning to release a full live mix as a CD and a digital release later this year as well.

TBB: What are your Top 3 Bangin’ Tracks at the moment?

Guy Mantzur: There is so much good music at the moment so its hard to find only 3. But I’ll give it a shot:

  1. Carolina by Khen
  2. Clockers by Chicola
  3. Trail by Kasper Koma
