Ultra Music Festival Wins Lawsuit Against Late Co-Founder Alex Omes’ Estate

Ultra Unveils Phase One Lineup For Resistance Stage 2016

Miami nightlife legend Alex Omes died last year under mysterious circumstances. However, he didn’t go before initiating a legal battle to regain control of the Ultra Music Festival, which he co-founded. On March 2, the judge ruled in favour of the Ultra Music Festival stating lack of documentation between Omes and the festival. The judge also stated that Omes had inflated the appreciation of the festival to $33 million when in effect it couldnt have been more than $720,000. Omes’ estate has filed for an appeal of the verdict.

“Ultra Enterprises Inc. is extremely pleased with the outcome of [the] trial held in November,” an Ultra spokesperson told the Miami New Times, “and hopes that the parties may now resolve what is left of the matter amicably and without further expenditure of the resources of the court or the parties.”

Last year, the day his case was to go on trial, he was found dead in his Miami loft. The circumstances of his death haven’t yet been officially released as the Miami Medical Examiner’s Office claims that the autopsy report is still unfinished.
