Twitch Tv made an announcement that had video game geeks and EDM fans whoop and immediately take sides. After constant taunting over video games on Twitter, the two DJs, Borgore and Steve Aoki finally decided to give each other a taste of their gaming skills through a brutal duel.
Through the week, from announcement till the battle, stakes were raised from Aoki jumps to $10,000 dollars. On the day of the battle, adrenalin and anticipation were high.
Finally, TwitchTv, on the 28th of September, hosted a live stream where the two DJs took on each other in Capcom’s Ultra Street Fighter IV on the Xbox 360. Hosted by Mike Ross,partnership lead for Twitch’s fighting game community and a veteran competitor, host and commentator the live stream was one that drew immense attention. And for those who couldn’t view it, Aoki kept them updated.
Steve Aoki emerged victorious, with a score of 5-2 and as the losing contender, Borgore had to donate $10,000 to Aoki‘s choice of charity. While the loser also had to get caked, it was Mike Ross who eventually left with cream in his hair.
