Games Workshop Continues Its Prosperous Streak
The renowned creator of Warhammer 40,000, Games Workshop, is celebrating another successful year by distributing a generous £20 million (approximately $27 million) bonus among its employees.
Based in Nottingham, UK, the company famous for producing the Warhammer series of tabletop games reported a significant financial uplift for the fiscal year ending June 1, 2025. Games Workshop saw its core revenue soar to £560 million from £494.7 million in the prior year. Additionally, income from licensing reached £50 million, a substantial increase from £31 million. Profits from core operations rose to £210 million from £174.8 million, while profits derived from licensing activities climbed to £45 million from £27 million, culminating in a pre-tax profit of £255 million, up from £203 million.
In light of these impressive financial gains, Games Workshop has decided to reward its workforce with £20 million in bonuses, a step up from the £18 million distributed last year. The bonus will be equally shared among its approximately 1,500 employees, providing each individual with around £13,333 (about $18,000).
What’s Next for Games Workshop?
Following a year of record-breaking licensing revenue, Games Workshop remains cautious about replicating this success in the 2025/26 period, though maintaining a strong focus on licensing will continue. The company’s flagship franchises, Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer, are more popular than ever, and there are no signs of momentum waning anytime soon.
Games Workshop also highlighted its recent Warhammer Skulls event, an annual showcase that brings exciting announcements and trailers to fans worldwide. Notable reveals included the Definitive Edition of Dawn of War and a new Siege mode for Space Marine 2, further expanding the Warhammer universe’s reach and influence.
