The legendary rock band The Who is embarking on what appears to be their final North American tour. Band members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend are calling it the Song Is Over Tour. Below, you can find a list of the tour dates they have scheduled. Also included is information about a press conference The Who held regarding this farewell tour.
The Who first brought their music to North American audiences in 1967. Interestingly, they announced a “farewell tour” once before, back in 1982. However, in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Townshend clarified that the decision to label it a farewell tour wasn’t theirs. “It was the manager who announced that it would be the last tour, not us,” he explained. “He saw it as a big money-making opportunity once we sold out an arena tour. It really wasn’t a wise move. I regret not speaking out at the time. But I always believed that regardless of what the manager, record company, or promoters said, if we decided we wanted to tour again, we damn well would. It just ended up taking a lot longer than expected.”
