W&W to play show at Philadelphia Phillies home game on July 5th
Recently we’ve seen the incursion of pop culture not only with sports but their commercials as well. Electronic Dance Music has just started playing with sports since electro-pop songs often made into ESPN advertisements or NBA halftime gigs. It’s now time for EDM to shake its hands with sports and make wonders over night. And for this to initiate, our very own Trance or Trouse artists W&W are all set to give Major League Baseball its first ever dance music performance. Although one half of W&W i.e. Williem was admitted to a hospital few days back and is still recovering, on July 5th, W&W will play a 90-minutes set for the Philadelphia Phillies home game against the Atlanta Braves followed by the game at Citizens Bank Park’s Ashburn Alley. We are sure enough that the ‘dance floor destructors’ will be back on the scene giving a kickass performance as always.
Michael Harris, Director of Marketing and Special Projects for the Phillies had the following to say on joining dance music with baseball:
“We know it’s a little unusual, but two of the most passionate fan bases out there are dance music and sports. So (we thought), let’s try to blend them together for a unique event. The macro point of this is to create something for our fans to do after the game is over. The ballpark really is a destination spot and a fun place to hang out.”
Major League Baseball – Get ready to LIFT OFF!!
Paul from the Bingo Players is currently in the hospital
We received some sad news last week about Willem van Hanegem of W&W being hospitalized and they would not be playing at EDC and now it seems that Paul from the Bingo Players has been hospitalized. However, Maarten Hoogstraten will bring the Bingo Players style full force to each scheduled set.
Here is what the management of the team had to say:
We’ve just been informed that Paul was admitted to hospital last night in Holland for an emergency procedure. We spoke to him this morning and although he’s in a stable condition now he isn’t allowed to travel over the coming days. He was so excited about the shows this coming weekend and is devastated that he won’t be able to perform in Chicago, Las Vegas and New York this weekend.
The banginbeats team wishes both the boys(Willem & Paul) a speedy recovery and hope to see them back in the festival scene soon.
