Rebecca Scheja and Fiona Fitzpatrick met at a friends birthday party and their most unexpected magical journey began, a journey that changed their lives. Going by Rebecca & Fiona‘s award nominations and wins you can only guess that they’ve been taking over Stockholm’s EDM scene. Their global  success came after the release of their first single ‘Luminary Ones’ in 2010.

 

Music runs in their blood, both their dads were prolific musicians in their homeland  it was only fitting for them to take on a career in music. Fiona’s dad, Greg, is the king of Swedish 80′s Synthpop and Rebecca’s father, Staffan, is a well known classical pianists in Sweden.

 

The duo have come a long way from blogging about dance music together, to running their own nightclub, to make albums that have had producers like Carli and Adrian Lux and collaborators like Kaskade and Spank Rock, to performing on Tomorrowland 2012′s main stage and now they’re going to be performing in India this weekend.

Their style of music balances out soulful vocals and melodic electro beats that carries listeners away to a place far away from reality. They’ve established themselves in the EDM world as artists to watch out for, especially being from a country thats overflowing with DJs and producers. These Swedish girls are going to land in India and play at Rolling Stone India‘s Electro Nights in Mumbai and Pune this weekend, this party is one you won’t want to miss.
