Protohype - See No Evil [EP]

Protohype have always been in the scene known for their bass-heavy, gnarly music that’s an inducing drug to many bass lovers out there. The 23-year-old electronic artist has just dropped the 2nd edition in this three-part series of his EP’s. The first created quite a lot of hype, titled ‘Hear No Evil’, and now the latest installment See No Evil has been just released. The EP features seven tracks representing multiple facets of  hip-hop influenced bass music all while maintaining the gritty and dark sound Protohype is known for. See No Evil, the title track will have your speakers thumping very nicely. Menaceanother collaboration with Protohype‘s long-time partner Kezwik, expertly highlights the duo’s unfailing juxtaposition of progression and sinister bass. The Peak is the most powerful and energetic tune mainly because of its fluidity and balance between harmony and bass. Bright Side again takes the powerful lyrics of Ras and combines them with Protohype’s intense musical pizazz. Turn The Bass Up engulfs 8-bit arcade melodies with a healthy allotment of hard-hitting bass. Protohype closes with style with Shatter which starts with a melancholy violin riff. The song continues with this beautiful violin throughout the whole song while Protohype swoops in with his drops of electronic bliss.

With two parts in the bag, there’s no telling what speaking no evil is going to hold for us! Grab it here, and check it below!

Migos – Hannah Montana (Borgore & Protohype Remix) [Preview]

Hannah Montana Borgore Protohype Remix

Everybody seems to be loving rap trio Migos, with a dozen remixes of theirs popping up everywhere. Borgore & Protohype  seem to be the latest to join to bandwagon, with a trap/dubstep remix of their single, Hannah Montana.

Starting off with a “molly” hook, layered over trapstep beats, it breaks into a face melting drop, with a wobble dirtier than your browser history. This one’s got festival flavour sprinkled all over it, and is definitely one mean, mean remix. Word is that this will drop for free via the next Buygore Allstars compilation.

Listen to the track below. Statutory Warning: Listening to this with the bass knob kicked up a few notches might blow you away.

Los Angeles producer/DJ Protohype, has today released ‘Hear No Evil’, the second installment in a trilogy of EPs on Datsik’s label Firepower Records. Each EP in the See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil series reflects its title in a variety of ways. Look for the final chapter, SPEAK NO EVIL, to complete the intensifying tale inProtohype’s progressive trilogy.
