Weiss – Weiss City Vol 2 [EP]
The anonymous and up-and-coming Weiss returns for the release of the highly anticipated ‘Weiss City Vol 2’.
Bursting onto the scene earlier this year, the illusive Weiss has already captured the imagination of producers, press and the public alike with his inspiring take on old school house. The first in this series of EPs, ‘Weiss City Vol 1’, garnered support from the likes of Shadow Child, Ninetoes, Pleasurekraft, Noir, Bontan, Groove Armada and more, with ‘My Sister’ gaining airplay on B-Traits’ Radio 1 show and successfully taking over the Beatport deep house chart at No.3. Now Weiss returns to take the ‘Weiss City’ series a step further.
‘Weiss City Vol 2’ establishes Weiss’ take on house, as he presents three stand out tracks with his trademark punchy old school drums, deep rumbling bass and clever vocal hooks.
Leading the charge ‘If I Ever Dance’ is destined to follow on from ‘My Sister’, taking over the more underground dance floors, propelled by an unforgettable groove and soulful vocals.
With a simple and sweet melody alongside an unforgettable vocal, ‘Devil In The Sky’ is one for classic house enthusiasts wrapped in the classic M1 organ.
Finally, ‘Ghetto Boy’ takes us deeper and darker for an after party feel; it’s all about the groove.
Sure to become a classic release in this already standout collection of EPs and cement Weiss furthermore as an artist who’s rapidly becoming one to watch, Weiss City (Vol 2) is the place to be.

Pleasurekraft – Sinister Strings (Original Mix)
They may be known to their friends and fans as Kalle & Kaveh, but Pleasurekraft as they call their dance avatar is definitely worth a listen. Their new mix of titled Sinister Strings is definitely an understated name for a track as this one puts the ball out of the ‘tech house’ park.
Calling it their labor of love - Sinister Strings is their interpretation of 1997′s infamous “Nightmare” by Brainbug. You’ve got to be a serious Tech House nazi to understand this deconstruction of music as it awakens music notes in places on your body, you didn’t know existed. Deep, empathetic and strangely personal the single begins with a rhythmic beat the music moves into alien grounds with eclectic synths and percussions. Not so heavy on the beats, but yet effective enough to put you in a state of mental bliss the track pulls into demonic territory with singular water droplet like sounds. The track shows immense capacity and terminator like efforts aimed at pure musicasm.
If you really want to brave the dance wave, you have to check out this one here.

Tech-house & Techno seminal act Pleasurekraft (Great Stuff, Suara, Cajual), take a moment out of their incessant touring schedule to meet up and collaborate with Denver born Jaceo (Kling Klong, 100%% Pure) & Vedic. The product from this talent combination is immense, titled as “Chloroformd”, it is a peak house floor dominator. One of those tracks meant to be the standout point in any set. UMEK & Pleasurekraft – Korea (Original Mix)
Umek has two decades of global touring and powerful production under his belt , and the always-so-original Pleasurekraft is known for his mode of production and distinct styles in the tech-house genre – When these two collab, there is sure to be tension as to who will dominate style over the other . But ”Korea” is a perfect collab that does not undermine but boost’s the other’s calibre.
Umek begins with minimal percussive lead before swirls of synths that breakdown into infectious rhythms. Pleasurekraft’s dancey influence can also be felt throughout the track, with those strechy basslines and luminous chord progressions that carries the backbone of the track.
We know tech-house isn’t the most popular EDM genre, but it’s popularity is rapidly growing around the world, and people like Pleasurekraft and Umek are a major reason why.
This track is a ear worm !
