Monsta – Messiah (Dirty South Remix)

Messiah

The monstrosity of Monsta’s track ‘Messiah’ has doubled after being remixed by progressive house legend Dirty South. As soon as the three wonder kids of Monsta were picked up by Skrillex’s OWSLA a while back their music exploded all over the place. Dirty South is just another name on their list of prolific players who have remixed their tracks. Skaar’s soulful voice and Dirty South’s sleek synths combine our two favourite sub genre’s making this remix one you can’t stop listening to.

Designer Drugs & Alvin Risk – Empty Hearted (Original Mix) [Preview]

EH

Alvin Risk is OWSLA’s pride and joy who released his track “Skyclad” a few weeks ago. He wastes no time in bringing us another track, this time previewing a collaboration with New York based duo Designer Drugs.

“Empty Hearted” features the duo’s electro synthesized sounds and Alvin’s vocals, finely auto-tuned vocals however and manic dub wobbles. From the preview we can safely say that this track will proceed to build into another dubstep track that is worthy of a great response. This track is scheduled to release on the 16th of April 2013 on Ultra Records.

Jay Z – Can I Get A.. (Big Gigantic Remix)

Dope. That’s the word that’s gonna hit your head once this track rolls out on your player. We were taken aback when we heard Big Gigantic was remixing Jay Z‘s ‘Can I Get A..’, and we weren’t sure what to expect, but once we hit that play button, we were nothing but impressed.

This is one of those tracks where you can picture yourself in a scenario where you’re riding down L.A or Miami, in your convertible or lowrider, blowing off your speakers with this track, looking around like the public’s got nothing on you. The drop is quite apt to the songs general feel; giving you the energy levels you require to enjoy it. The song overall seems like the result of putting Hip-Hop, Trap & Dubstep into one blender, and the end-result is one, fresh, perfectly balanced song.

Even better, Big Gigantic is giving this song off for free, so pick it up while it’s fresh!

Datsik – Scum (Original Mix)

Datsik

Dubstep DJ/producer – Datsik has had a string of #1 tracks on Beatport. His loyal fan are eagerly awaiting the release of his work in progress EP to take it’s tracks to #1 as well. To tease them, Datsik released a track entitled “Scum”. Not really sure why that name, but it’s what he chose. The track is dark and wobble heavy, a true Firepower Record production.

Gemini & Greta Svabo Bech – Fire Inside (Lonely Hearts Edition) [Preview]

Gemini-fire-inside

One of Dubstep’s most emotional producers, Gemini has treated us to a preview of the vocal version of his emotionally driven masterpiece, Fire Inside, that was released approximately a year ago.

This time, he has included a duet of  Greta Svabo Bech ethereal vocals and his own, and has made it a truly moving piece of music.  Gemini had re-written this wonderful production whilst on tour in his hotel room. The track, according to Gemini’s Soundcloud page, means a lot to the producer. According to him, it’s meant to give strength to those who feel alone, as he does, when he’s touring.

He’s even giving away the Acapella version, as he’s keen on seeing what people can do with Greta’s beautiful vocals.

Gemini also has this to say about his Lonely Hearts concept;

“The Lonely Hearts concept is something I’m planning on doing more regularly. It’s for anyone who needs to feel empowered when they feel lonely, sad or let down. It’s there to give you strength to be happy. This track really means something to me and hopefully it will to you guys too.”

With the current aggressive trend in the Electronic Music Industry, masterpieces such as this are few and far between. And when they come about, it’s truly like a treasure. So emotional, so driven, so powerful,   it can provide even the coldest of hearts with warmth and comfort. And this is EXACTLY what music is meant to do. It is meant to move you.

We cannot wait for this one to release.

Feature Cuts – Vision (Original Mix)

Visions

On April 30th 2013 Feature Cuts will release his new debut EP “Visions”. With the EP coming out on his own imprint Ne7work, he is looking at building and expanding his music as much as he can. He released the title track and his first single “Vision” on his soundcloud account which he describes as ‘defines a new direction’. I personally like the direction he is heading in. Sounds of an edgier progressive bass boldly thumps right on in this one. Grab the album when it releases to get a better idea of his music style!

Krewella – Alive (Hyperbits Remix) [Free Download]

Krewella

To celebrate reaching 2,000 followers on Facebook New York neophyte electronic dance music duo Hyperbits reworked Chicago dubstep trio Krewella’s “Alive”. This remix rendition is different and showcases the duo’s rawness, but their enthusiasm shines through and through. They’ve taken Krewella’s hit single and spun it into a less dub and more electro version, with accents of hard hitting tribal beats in it.

Rudimental Feat. John Newman – Feel The Love (Kill Paris Remix)

Kill Paris

UK’s Rudimental track “Feel The Love” has been remixed and reworked by many DJs. Now, Corey Baker a.k.a Kill Paris brings out his version of the track. This L.A. boy has created a shift in dubstep paradigm, giving this track a more groovy and funky sound. It is a chilled down tempo version of the original but is still packed with tremendous energy. Kill Paris has uniquely put together a massive track personalizing it with elements of funk.

Cedric Gervais & Borgore – Deception [Spinnin]

The french house wizard and Miami resident, Cedric Gervais, who has given us hits like ‘Molly’ and the remix for ‘Summertime Sadness’ has joined forces with ‘Borgore’ who is known for his gruesome bass and NSFW twitter account. We previewed the track for you 4 days ago and its was featured on episode 170 and 171 of Sander Van Doorn’s Identity podcast. With a smooth progressive build up, this track brings you the perfect amalgamation of both producers’ skills. One minute in, you are welcomed with pleasant synth riffs that move onto delivering some heavy bass courtesy of Borgore. Check out the track below which is out now on Spinnin Records and don’t forget to buy it on Beatport.

Dodge & Fuski – Sucker Punch EP

SuckerPunchEP

Never Say Die Records releases dubstep duo Dodge and Fuski’s three track “Sucker Punch EP”  and wow does this one throw a mad punch!

The first track “Sucker Punch” is dirty and picks up quickly, a great dub tune. However the second one “Never Let Me Go” is more mellow at the start and then suddenly hits you hard with the soothing vocals as the beat picks up. This EP marked the return of the duo’s grimy side with the last track “Substance Abuse”. It is dark and has eerie synths which make it seem haunting and intimidating. They’ve added their sense of humour to the track with “Thats.. Catnip” being said throughout. Pick up this EP if you’re a dubstep fan, it’s not commercial but I think it’s a must have.
