Nicky Romero & Nervo – Like Home (Remixes)

“Like Home” received one hell of a response when the NERVO girls first played it at the Tomorrowland festival earlier this year. The unique thing about the track is that Nicky Romero has stepped away from his original resonances thanks to the light vocals provided by Miriam and Olivia. Due to the massive response all across the globe, Protocol Recordings have decided to release a remix package by giving three super talented DJ’s a shot at reworking the magic of this track.
First we have Dillion Francis using his typical style of slowing down the BPM and giving a heavy dose of a strong bass in the track. He has carefully blended in the vocals of the track as well. This ultimately gives the remix a very catchy tune.
Next up we have Hardwell’s protégé Dannic who has had a fantastic year as well. For this remix, he brings in his big room sound to the track and keeps it confined to the progressive house genre. One can easily see this track being a big hit in the festival circuit.
The last remix has been carried out by Gregor Salto who essentially gives this track a whole new meaning. This remix purely represents the statement – “bringing energy to a track”. Salto has used hard-hitting electro beats and at the same time retained the charm of the vocals.
Overall, a great job by team Protocol Recordings. By giving remixes they are not only giving the chance for DJ’s to test out their skills but as fans we get to see a different face towards the original track. Not only you appreciate the artist’s skills but you are left wondering was the original better or do I like this remix now?
If you beg to differ then you can go back to the remix package of Avicii’s “Silhouettes” and there you will find the answer to this question. Do we like the original better? Or do we feel that the likes of Syn Cole, EDX or Lazy Rich did a better job?
One thing will hold true though and that is – music is the ultimate winner!
