Stranger Things Season 5 Episode Runtimes Finally Confirmed — And They Squash All the Rumors

Clarifying the Length of “Stranger Things” Season 5 Episodes

For quite some time, the internet has been buzzing with speculations about the duration of each episode in the upcoming fifth season of “Stranger Things.” Finally, Ross Duffer, one of the show’s creators, has come forward to provide accurate information.

On October 13, Duffer posted a video on Instagram that displayed the episodes listed on a version of Netflix signifying they are still in the post-production phase and not ready for public viewing. The video revealed the lengths of the episodes: the opening episode titled “The Crawl” will last 68 minutes. The second episode, which is yet to be titled, will be 54 minutes long. The third episode, named “The Turnbow Trap,” will last 66 minutes, and the fourth episode, “Sorcerer,” will be the longest at 83 minutes.

Ross Duffer didn’t miss the opportunity to address the rumors with a hint of humor in his post’s caption, emphasizing “ACTUAL runtimes” and punctuating it with a peace sign emoji.

This announcement effectively puts to rest the previous rumors, particularly the one suggesting that each episode would exceed 90 minutes. It’s important to note, however, that these details only pertain to the initial part of Season 5. The lengths of episodes in the remaining two parts of the season remain to be seen.

Release Strategy for the Final Season

Netflix plans to release the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things” in three parts. The season will kick off over the Thanksgiving holiday with the first batch of episodes launching on November 26. This will be followed by the next three episodes, which are scheduled to debut on Christmas, and the season will conclude with a final episode premiering on New Year’s Eve.

While specifics about the episodes set to release during the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations are still under wraps, more information is likely to emerge in the coming weeks.

Interestingly, previous seasons of “Stranger Things” typically featured episodes that were about an hour long. This changed with Season 4, where several episodes reached 70 minutes, and the last four boasted feature-length durations, including a two-hour and 22-minute season finale.

Premiere Details

“Stranger Things” Season 5 is set to make its debut on November 26, when the first four episodes will become available for streaming. This release strategy not only builds anticipation but also allows viewers to engage deeply with the unfolding drama in Hawkins over the holiday season.
