Kassie Krut Drops Expanded EP: Hear the Panda Bear Remix of “Hooh Beat” Now!

Kassie Krut has unveiled an expanded version of their 2024 debut EP titled Kassie Krut. Scheduled for release on June 6 through Fire Talk Records, the special edition will feature remixes of five out of the six original tracks. Remix contributors include notable artists such as Kero Kero Bonito’s JLB, Coido, DJ Travella, and Container. As a preview, the band has released Panda Bear’s remix of the track “Hoot Beat.” You can listen to it below.

The remix of “Hoot Beat” symbolizes a creative synergy between Panda Bear and Kassie Krut, who are also set to join forces with Toro y Moi for a brief tour in May. After the tour, Kassie Krut will headline their own shows in cities including Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, and Montreal. Meanwhile, Panda Bear will embark on a separate tour to promote his latest album Sinister Grift, with stops in San Francisco, Seattle, and Vancouver.

Following the break-up of their Philadelphia-based math-rock band Palm in 2023, co-founders and vocalists/guitarists Eve Alpert and Kasra Kurt took a brief hiatus before launching Kassie Krut with their Nicks and Grazes producer, Matt Anderegg. They introduced the band with their debut EP last December, preceded by the release of singles “Reckless” and “Racing Man.”

The track “Reckless” was featured in “The 100 Best Songs of 2024.”
