Internationally acclaimed artist Lisa, known for her prominence in Blackpink and her recent ventures into solo music and acting, is currently being featured in a documentary produced by Sony Music Vision and directed by Sue Kim. The announcement was made at a Sony event in Hollywood.
The revelation occurred at a Sony Music Vision presentation that showcased upcoming music-related films. Director Sue Kim discussed her ongoing project on Lisa, alongside other directors such as Baz Luhrmann and Frank Marshall, who shared details about their own documentary works on Elvis Presley and Barbra Streisand, respectively.
Director Sue Kim shared that she has been collaborating with Lisa for a year on this documentary, which does not yet have a confirmed release date. Although Kim’s prior directorial efforts, such as the film “The Last of the Sea Women” presented by A24 at the Toronto Film Festival, focused on lesser-known subjects, she brings experience in K-pop from her role as executive producer of the Apple TV+ docuseries “K-Pop Idols.”

At the industry presentation, a trailer for Lisa’s documentary was shown, featuring a mix of her solo performances and personal moments with her family. Kim recounted that during their initial meeting, Lisa enthusiastically involved her childhood friends in the documentary by texting them on the spot.
Lisa expressed her excitement about the project, stating, “This has been an incredible year. I feel fortunate to document these memorable moments and share them with my fans. Working with Sue Kim has been delightful. We’ve traveled globally, and I am eager for our future projects together.”
“Documenting Lisa’s remarkable year has been a profound honor and a cinematic treasure,” commented Kim. “There are numerous aspects of her life that will astonish viewers and provide an unprecedented look into her world. I can’t wait for audiences to see this film and experience this significant phase of her life.”
This documentary is a product of Tremolo Productions in collaboration with Salt Water Productions and LLOUD CO. The production team includes Morgan Neville and Caitrin Rogers from Tremolo, along with Sue Kim and Courtney Crockett from Salt Water Productions. Executive producers are Alice Kang and Joojong Joe from LLOUD CO., and Peter Edge, John Fleckenstein, and Camille Yorrick from RCA Records, with additional support from Tom Mackay, Krista Wegener, and Abby Davis from Sony Music Vision. The documentary will be presented and distributed by Sony Music Vision in association with RCA Records.
Following her solo album release, “Alter Ego,” on LLOUD CO./RCA, Lisa and the rest of Blackpink are preparing for a brief tour this year after a break for solo projects, hinting at a longer reunion.
Lisa’s recent foray into acting, including her role in the latest season of “The White Lotus,” will also be featured in the documentary.
Baz Luhrmann highlighted his upcoming project, “EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert,” at the Sony event, sharing extensive footage and emphasizing the blend of documentary and concert film elements. His exploration into Elvis Presley’s personal and professional life includes a vast array of previously unseen footage and audio recordings from several decades.
Sony Music Vision continues to produce notable documentaries directed by acclaimed filmmakers, following successful releases like Questlove’s documentary on Sly Stone and a remastered Pink Floyd concert film, which became a major theatrical success this spring.
