Julien Baker Cancels Joint Tour with Torres, Citing Health Reasons

Julien Baker Halts U.S. Tour with Torres

Julien Baker has decided to halt the remaining dates of her co-headlining U.S. tour with Torres, citing the need to concentrate on her personal health. An official statement released online explained, “Due to recent events, Julien Baker is prioritizing her well-being and taking time to focus on her health.” The full statement can be read below.

Last month, Baker and Torres released their joint country album, Send a Prayer My Way. The album includes tracks like “Sylvia” and “Sugar in the Tank,” which they performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. This cancellation comes on the heels of two previously called off shows, which were canceled due to a concussion sustained by one of the band members. The duo was scheduled to perform next at Stable Hall in San Antonio on the evening of Sunday, May 4.

For those interested in recent works by the artists, consider revisiting the review of Torres’ 2024 solo album, What an Enormous Room, as well as the feature interview titled “Julien Baker on Being Queer, Southern, Christian, and Proud.”

Regarding the tour cancellation, the statement further reads: “Due to recent events, Julien Baker is prioritizing her well-being and taking time to focus on her health. As a result, the Julien Baker & TORRES ‘Send A Prayer My Way’ Tour has been canceled. We did not make this decision lightly and we recognize the disappointment this may cause fans. We sincerely appreciate your understanding.”

The statement concludes with instructions for ticket refunds, advising attendees to contact the original point of purchase for refund information and ticketing queries. It ends with a note of gratitude: “Thank you for your continued support and compassion.”
