Captain Jack Sparrow Sets Sail In Lego Pirate Ship Next Month

Lift the Sails and Load the Cannons

Prepare to embark on an adventurous voyage with the latest Lego offering, inspired by the swashbuckling Pirates of the Caribbean movie series. The iconic pirate ship, the Black Pearl, commanded by the notorious Captain Jack Sparrow, is making its grand return under the Lego Icons series. Set to release on September 15 with a price tag of $380, Lego VIP members have the privilege of early access, allowing them to purchase the set starting September 12. Furthermore, anyone who preorders during September 12-18 will receive a complimentary Lego version of Jack Sparrow’s fabled compass.

This is not the first iteration of the Black Pearl in Lego form; a previous version was launched in 2011. However, the 2023 model surpasses its predecessor in both size and detail, offering space for minifigures. Interestingly, this new set is not directly named the Black Pearl but is marketed as “Captain Jack Sparrow’s Ship” – a title that might seem fitting due to its strong association with the character.

For those who enjoy some cinematic ambiance while building, the entire Pirates of the Caribbean series is available on Blu-ray. Amazon offers all five films in a single collection for just $45.

Lego’s recent productions aren’t limited to pirate ships. Fans of the One Piece series, particularly the new Netflix live-action adaptation, can enjoy building various themed sets, including the freshly released Going Merry set, which consists of 1,376 pieces and became available in early August.

The Lego One Piece collection is expansive, featuring several sets such as the massive 3,402-piece Baratie Floating Restaurant, the 926-piece Battle at Arlong Park set, a 573-piece set based on Buggy the Clown’s circus, and the charming 299-piece Windmill Village Hut. Additionally, for a quick and fun project, fans can acquire Brickheadz figures of Monkey D. Luffy and Buggy the Clown, each priced at $10.

These captivating sets are available at major retailers including Amazon, the Lego Store, Target, Walmart, and Best Buy:

If historical ships pique your interest, Lego has you covered with two impressive sets. The River Steamboat, a 4,090-piece set priced at $330, is a homage to the 19th-century paddle steamers. This meticulously designed model measures 69cm (27 in.) in length and features a functional wheelhouse with a steering wheel that controls the rudder. It also includes a display stand.

The Endurance, another real-life inspired ship, was used by Sir Ernest Shackleton for his Antarctic expedition but tragically sank in 1915 after being trapped in ice. The Lego model of The Endurance comprises 3,011 pieces, costs $270, and once completed, stretches to 80cm (32 in.) in length. This model is equipped with three masts, ten full sails, a flying Red Ensign flag, and an intricate rigging system, making it a remarkable display piece.

Fans of gaming, technology, and entertainment can look forward to more exciting deals and preorders this month, including exclusive Lego bundles at Walmart featuring themes like Spider-Man, Star Wars, Disney, and more. Other notable mentions include restocks of the Metal Gear Solid Delta Collector’s Edition at Amazon and various other offers across different platforms.
