A Reunion at the Stranger Things Season 5 Premiere
At the recent premiere of Stranger Things Season 5, stars Millie Bobbie Brown and David Harbour were seen together again, just a few days after allegations surfaced about Harbour’s conduct. Reports had emerged claiming Brown filed several complaints about the actor’s behavior before the production of the Netflix series’ final season commenced.
Last week, The Daily Mail released information suggesting that Brown had accused Harbour of “harassment and bullying,” though there were no allegations of sexual misconduct. According to the report, Netflix spent months investigating these accusations. As a result, Brown had a personal assistant accompany her at all times during filming.
Despite these allegations, Harbour and Brown displayed a strong front during the premiere, engaging in conversations, participating in photo ops, and standing with Netflix executives like co-CEO Ted Sarandos and CCO Bela Bajaria.
Addressing Safety and Respect on Set
At the event, Shawn Levy, known for his work on both Stranger Things and the Deadpool & Wolverine films, was asked about the complaints and the measures taken to ensure a safe, respectful environment on set. Levy emphasized the importance of maintaining a respectful workplace where everyone feels secure and comfortable. “We’ve gone to great lengths to create such an environment and are proud of these efforts,” Levy explained to The Hollywood Reporter.
Levy also mentioned the variety of stories circulating about the situation, describing them as ranging from “wildly inaccurate” to simply part of the surrounding “noise.” He stressed, “We consider our crew and cast as family, thus respect and proper treatment are fundamental.”
When questioned about the issue, Stranger Things co-creator Matt Duffer echoed a similar sentiment. He refrained from discussing specific on-set incidents but underscored the long-standing relationship with the cast over a decade, treating them as family and prioritizing their well-being and safety on set.
Continued Spotlight on Harbour
The allegations against Harbour come amid increased public attention following his ex-wife Lily Allen’s latest album release, “West End Girl,” where she openly discusses their difficult separation.
Anticipating the Final Season
Stranger Things is set to unveil its last season starting with four episodes on November 26, with the first five minutes currently available online as a preview. The series will release more episodes on December 25 and conclude with a feature-length finale on December 31.
