Cobra 4K Limited Edition Gets Steep Launch Discount At Amazon

Sylvester Stallone has had an illustrious career starring in numerous action-packed and dramatic movies that have become iconic, such as Rocky and Rambo. Not all his films have reached mainstream success; some are revered as cult classics, with the 1986 movie Cobra being a prime example. Adapted from Paula Gosling’s 1974 novel “A Running Duck,” Cobra features exaggerated action sequences and dialogue that borders on satirical, making its cult status among fans somewhat predictable. For the first time, enthusiasts and collectors of Stallone’s work can enjoy Cobra in 4K Blu-ray.

The limited edition 4K Blu-ray of Cobra is set to be released this week on July 22, and is currently available on Amazon at a reduced price of $32, initially priced at $50.

Exclusive Features in Cobra Limited Edition

For those interested in delving deeper into the dangerous universe of Cobra, the new 4K edition comes packed with numerous special features. These include:

– Fresh audio commentary from film critics Kim Newman and Nick de Semlyen
– Newly recorded audio commentary by academics Josh Nelson and Martyn Pedler
– An archived audio commentary by director George P. Cosmatos from 1998
– A TV version of the film, which includes deleted and alternate scenes, now presented for the first time on home video in standard definition
– “Slashing the Night Away,” a new interview with composer Sylvester Levay
– “Dark Glasses, Violence & Robots,” a new visual essay by film critic Abbey Bender on Cobra and 1980s maximalist cinema
– “White Line Nightmare,” a new visual essay by film critic Martyn Conterio on Cobra and the “Maverick Cop” film genre
– Archived interviews with actors Brian Thompson, Marco Rodriguez, Andrew Robinson, Lee Garlington, and Art LaFleur
– The original 1986 featurette on the making of Cobra
– Trailers, TV spots, and an image gallery
