Crunchyroll Drops ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba — Infinity Castle’ Trailer, Launching the Franchise’s Three-Part Cinematic Finale

Crunchyroll, in partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment, has unveiled a new trailer for “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle.” This film is the initial installment in a trio of movies intended to conclude the globally beloved anime series. It is set to premiere in theaters across North America, including IMAX and other premium large formats, on September 12.

Originating from the manga created by Koyoharu Gotoge, this film adaptation covers the pivotal Infinity Castle arc, continuing directly after the “Hashira Training” arc. The narrative escalates when Muzan Kibutsuji stages an unexpected assault, forcing Tanjiro along with the Demon Slayer Corps into a dire battle within the demon’s fortress. The trailer introduces fresh scenes and sets the stage for a dramatic clash aimed at bringing the storyline to a fulfilling end.

Haruo Sotozaki directs the movie, which is produced by the animation studio ufotable. The film features two new original theme songs, “A World Where the Sun Never Rises” by Aimer and “Shine in the Cruel Night” by LiSA, which are scheduled to be available on worldwide streaming services starting July 18.

The “Demon Slayer” series has proven to be one of the most financially successful anime properties to date. Its 2020 movie, “Mugen Train,” amassed over $500 million globally, setting records as the highest-grossing Japanese film ever and the top-grossing R-rated animated film worldwide. In the United States alone, it garnered nearly $50 million, establishing a new benchmark for anime films in American theaters.

Beyond its box office achievements, the “Demon Slayer” franchise has generated substantial revenue through manga sales, music, merchandise, and streaming rights. It has emerged as a flagship series for Crunchyroll, which has significantly invested in the distribution of theatrical anime as a part of Sony’s broader strategy to enhance its anime offerings.

The entire “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” series is currently accessible for streaming on Crunchyroll. Additionally, several albums and orchestral concert recordings from the series are available on various global platforms.

With its compelling narrative and broad appeal, the Infinity Castle movie trilogy is expected to attract significant attention from both dedicated anime enthusiasts and general audiences worldwide, continuing the franchise’s impressive legacy both domestically and internationally.
