Real Estate is set to release a new collection titled The Wee Small Hours this upcoming Friday, May 2. The album is a compilation of B-sides, covers, and previously unreleased tracks curated over the band’s 14-year history with Domino Records. It features their unique takes on songs like “Days” by Television, “Paper Dolls” by the Nerves, and “Barely Legal” by the Strokes. Below you can find the complete list of tracks included in the album.
“We have been considering this project for a long time,” shared Martin Courtney, the lead vocalist of Real Estate, through a press release. “The album’s title was inspired by the lyrics of a song we recorded that never got released, during our Atlas session at Wilco’s loft in Chicago back in 2013. It also nods to a classic Frank Sinatra album. We feel this album is a significant addition to our work and we’re excited for everyone to hear it.”
The band’s most recent studio album, Daniel, was launched in 2024. In conjunction with today’s announcement, they have also released a new music video directed by Micah Welner for the track “Pink Sky,” which is the opening song on The Wee Small Hours and was previously part of the Cardinals at the Window benefit compilation. The video features Martin Courtney dressed as a wizard, and it can be viewed below.
Real Estate debuted with a self-titled album through Woodsist in 2009 before joining Domino in 2011. Under Domino, they have released five studio albums: Days (2011), Atlas (2014), In Mind (2017), The Main Thing (2020), and Daniel.
