A24 and Apple Original Films recently unveiled a teaser for Spike Lee’s upcoming film, Highest 2 Lowest. The preview provides a glimpse into the performances of Denzel Washington, A$AP Rocky, and Jeffrey Wright in the movie. You can watch the teaser below.
Highest 2 Lowest reimagines Akira Kurosawa’s classic High to Low, transporting the story to the contemporary setting of New York City. The film also features performances by Ice Spice, Ilfenesh Hadera, Dean Winters, and John Douglas Thompson. Highest 2 Lowest is scheduled to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival later this month and will be released in theaters on Friday, August 22. Additionally, it will be available for streaming on Apple TV+ starting Friday, September 5.
This film marks Spike Lee’s first directing venture since the 2020 release of Da 5 Bloods. It is also noteworthy as the first film to reunite Lee with Denzel Washington since their 2006 project Inside Man.
