Announcing Season 3 of HBO’s The Last of Us
With the second season of HBO’s “The Last of Us” about to premiere, the network has already greenlit Season 3. This news doesn’t come as a surprise since the creators, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, have previously noted that Season 2 would not cover the entirety of “The Last of Us: Part II.”
In a recent statement released by Variety, Mazin expressed his satisfaction with the upcoming season, “Season 2 was crafted with the intent to produce a show that we could stand proud of. The final output has surpassed our highest expectations, thanks to our ongoing partnership with HBO and the exceptional efforts of our unmatched cast and crew.”
Neil Druckmann shared his personal excitement about his involvement in the series, saying, “Working on this show has been a pinnacle experience in my career. I’m deeply thankful for the passionate and overwhelming response from the fans.”
Season 2 Premiere and Cast Details
The much-anticipated Season 2 of “The Last of Us” is set to debut this Sunday, April 13. It sees the return of Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. This season also introduces Kaitlyn Dever who will be playing Abby.

HBO has hinted that the TV adaptation of “The Last of Us” could potentially stretch to four seasons. Meanwhile, in the gaming world, following the cancellation of “The Last of Us Online,” there are no current plans for new games in the series.
