Doechii Lights Up the 2025 Grammy Stage
Last night at the 2025 Grammy Awards, Doechii delivered an electrifying performance of her tracks “Catfish” and “Denial Is a River” from her acclaimed mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal. The stage was alive with the energy of over a dozen dancers, all donned in coordinated Thom Browne suits, enhancing the spectacle. The performance took a dramatic turn when Doechii’s attire was dramatically torn away to unveil high-fashion undergarments, setting the stage for the second song. She dynamically exchanged verses with a character portraying her therapist, played by DJ Miss Milan, on a moving platform. For those who missed it, a replay of her performance is available online.
Earlier that evening, Doechii clinched the Best Rap Album award for Alligator Bites Never Heal, a significant milestone in the Grammy’s history. In her victory speech, Doechii highlighted the significance of her win, noting, “This category was introduced in 1989. Since then, only three women, including Lauryn Hill, Cardi B, and now myself, have won this award.” Adding to the excitement of the evening, she also dropped a surprise new track titled “Nosebleeds” later in the night.
