Sony and the team at Santa Monica Studio have recently unveiled their upcoming Dark Odyssey collection, an exciting new update for God of War Ragnarök set to launch next week. This update will include a set of in-game gear inspired by one of the series’ most memorable costumes.
In a recent PlayStation.Blog post, Sony elaborated on the contents of this release, which is part of their celebration of God of War’s 20th anniversary. The update, named Dark Odyssey, will provide a treasure trove of aesthetic enhancements available to all owners of God of War Ragnarök on PlayStation 5 and PC. This update will be rolled out free of charge on March 20.
The Dark Odyssey update will feature a sleek, black-and-gold design that promises to give Kratos and his companions a stunning new look as they navigate the world of Norse mythology. The update includes special cosmetic sets for Atreus and Freya, and extends to various shields and weapons used by the player.
The highlight of the update is undoubtedly the Dark Odyssey armor and appearance set for Kratos, reminiscent of a skin that was originally only available to players who conquered God of War 2 on the challenging God Mode. This coveted set can be obtained from any Lost Items chest in the base game or instantly in God of War Ragnarök’s Valhalla mode following the update. Additionally, the update will introduce a much-anticipated feature allowing players to customize their weapons’ appearances without affecting their abilities.
