After we brought you the news about a massive teaser posted by YouTube channel Proximity which had to do something big with Swedish House Mafia. While the Internet was quick to hype the news and connect it to the likely return of the legendary trio, what followed was Proximity clearing out the air saying:
“What I can say is that I have spoke to a few people in the music industry that Swedish House Mafia is indeed coming back in 2017 for a tour that is already confirmed. Disclaimer: But what I heard about the tour was not said or confirmed by Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello or their team.”
Furthermore, the rumor waves surprisingly reached the artists as well to which Axwell Λ Ingrosso’s team issued a statement denying any plans of a reunion at the moment:
“At this point we’re not planning on reuniting and we have really no further comments on what the future for SHM looks like.”
As the highly awaited reunion of the three Swedish veterans still continues to be a trending topic within the dance music community, an “official” confirmation surfaces from the artists themselves is the need of the hour! And if history is anything to go by, several legendary acts like LCD Soundsystem, Guns N’ Roses have repeatedly denied reunion rumors in the past, only to come back in a bigger and stronger way.
