We’re living in the time of fast paced technological changes and that is news to no one. We’re just finding out the extent of advances drones have made, especially at EDM festivals. Daniel Mellinger and Alex Kushleyev, two bright engineers from Penn’s School of Engineering and Applied Science have showcased the advances in drone technology by creating drones that can perform on live instruments.
Shot back in 2012, the initial video lacks true musical depth. However, even back then, this marks the future of drone technology and seeing how much it has advanced since then, it stands to reason for the predictions.
While we can all predict that the leaps in technology on the physical aspects will be huge, we wonder whether there will be a time when drones will be able to create that special human connection which we feel with music. Even though it seems unbelievable right now, this video is proof that someday it could be possible.
