
The guys at Mixmag have delivered an spectacular mini-documentary which sees them go behind the scenes to learn about one of Daft Punk‘s most iconic characteristic, their elusive gold & silver helmets. Sponsored by Olmeca Tequila, the video charts their beginning as human-like figures up until their transformation into robot like entities to complement their music and the artistic direction they had taken .
As per the video, the legendary French duo initiated their plan to redefine their identities in 1999 after the release of their highly acclaimed record ‘Discovery’. Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter shared their concept idea with Grammy winning video directors Alex & Martin for designs, and Tony Gardner of Alterian Inc. to bring it to life and what ultimately led to the creation of the fan-favorite robots.
