Interview With Ferry Corsten!

One of Trance’s highly celebrated artists, Ferry Corsten, returned to Bacardi Enchanted Valley Carnival and brought his Full On stage to the festival, which also featured other artists such as RAM, Marco V and Alex M.O.R.P.H. We caught up with the Dutch Trance legend for an interview to discuss his return to Bacardi EVC, his plans for 2016 and much more. Read on!

TBB: It’s your second year at EVC. Last year you were in India as New World Punx, and this time you have an entire stage for yourself. How does it feel?

Ferry Corsten: Last year, we were at the mainstage, and that’s always really good, of course. This year, we were a little away from the main stage, but in the end it didn’t matter as the crowd was there, and they had their hands up, so it’s all good.

TBB: This year has seen the revival of a lot of old projects of yours. You brought back Gouryella and System F, and you’re running Ferry Corsten and NWP at the same time. How hectic is it?

Ferry Corsten: System F was a one-off thing for Japan, because that’s where it really grew up, in their clubs. Ferry Corsten is very different, sound-wise. Gouryella has been going on for sometime without Tiesto; he hasn’t been there much. Gouryella is all about that epicness coming back, because I still love those big melodies.

TBB: What do you think about the artists on your label Flashover Recordings?

Ferry Corsten: There are quite a few artists doing good stuff at Flashover, and a notable one for me is Dimension. He’s bringing the same kind of vibe that Gouryella has, and I’m certain that he’s going to blow up next year.

TBB: What are your top 3 Bangin tracks?

Ferry Corsten: (laughs) Wow, that’s hard man! Though, I’ll definitely go with-

  • Dimension – Origami
  • Gouryella – Anahera
  • Solarston – Seven Cities

TBB: Final question. What’s in store for you in 2016?

Ferry Corsten: Um, I’m definitely going to focus on getting more Gouryella shows, and I’ve planned a really big project, which is going to be different from all the stuff I’ve been doing earlier, so I guess you’ll have to wait for that! (laughs)

TBB: Awesome. Thank you for your time!

Ferry Corsten: Cheers, man!
