Rustie Cancels Future Shows Due To Addiction And Mental Health Problems

In another instance of constant stress and touring taking its toll on artists, Scottish DJ and producer Rustie has announced he’s going on an indefinite break from touring due to addiction and mental health problems.

Rustie aka Russell Whyte, took to Twitter to announce his break, and also said he wouldn’t be responding on social media personally. The news comes after Nicky Romero‘s recent battle with anxiety, Blasterjaxx’s Idir Makhlaf’s battle with depression, or Avicii having to cancel his touring in 2014 due to health issues. While a number of DJs and producers are opening up about their mental health problems, the bigger picture here lies in the fact that so many artists are falling victim to the lifestyle that requires constant touring with minimal attention to health, both physical and mental.

We sincerely hope that Rustie can pull himself through this ordeal, and we wish him the best of luck in this journey.
