Dance music event giant Sunburn was back in the Indian capital for another mind blowing Sunburn Arena with none other than Dutch Superstar Afrojack. Spanning over 5 cities, Nick had epic plans for the crowd and he surely didn’t disappoint. For the first time ever, a Sunburn Arena took place in the heart of the city at the incredible location of Major Dhyan Chand Stadium and we’ll have to admit that this is the next big destination for future arenas. Heading into the weekend in a perfect manner, the stage was set perfectly outside the stadium grounds and had ample amounts of space for the crowd to indulge into.
Ravitez and Apster Nailing The Opening Duties
The talented Dutch producer Ravitez kicked off the opening duties and delivered some stunning tracks one after another seamlessly. Throwing in belters like #BringBackTheGroove by Norman Doray and Bottai, Slapper by Lunde Bros, and his own productions like Vice, he made the the audience which was slowly gathering move to his beats. The buildup to his set saw some stunning tracks like Third Party’s popular track Everyday Of My Life and his own productions “Reverse” and “Long Road” which was very well received with loud cheers all around. Likewise Apster made sure he amped up the energy of the crowd by playing some energetic tunes and kept the fans on their feet and included his own latest productions like Ghostchild with Firebeatz and Soundboy with NLW(Afrojack’s alias) amongst other powerful ones like Gear by Merk & Kremont, Unreal by DJ Bl3nd, Flashback by Calvin Harris, Rough by Bassjackers and Reez and several more.
A Night Full Of New Music
Be it Apster, Wiwek or our main man Afrojack, they all delivered individual sets filled with brand new music. Successfully testing their upcoming tracks, there’s no better platform than this to test your future hits. And the crowd enjoyed each and every one of those tunes.
Wiwek Brought The Whole Amazon Sound With Him
Known for his signature Jungle Terror brand, Dutch producer Wiwek raged in style with the Delhi crowd. And what better way to celebrate your birthday than with your beloved fans who gave a warm gesture to the producer by chanting “Happy Birthday” in full glory. Kicking it off with the massive collaborative track “On Your Mark” with Gregor Salto, he continued dishing out the meanest tracks like Bollydome, Trouble, Boomshakatak, Bang Bang Theory and his collaborations with GTA for What We Tell Dem and Hardwell for Chameleon amongst many more. And he delivered a special track during his set which was none other than his much anticipated unreleased collaboration with Skrillex for “Killa” which sent the crowd into a frenzy. Accompanying the jungle themed music were the aptly done jungle-themed visuals which were wicked and funky, with dancing monkeys and crocodiles with crazy moves and an animated version of Wiwek himself.
Stunning Visuals Perfectly In Sync with Afrojack’s Electro Chaos
The visuals during Afrojack’s set stood out dramatically and were in perfect sync with each track. With the incorporation of stunning visuals and live stage feeds, they were the subject of appreciation of a great number of fans. I’m sure everyone will agree with this fact?
The Grand Entry of Afrojack
Just as Wiwek was about to put an end to his wild riot, the crowd was already in full motion chanting Afrojack’s name and the lights went out which clearly indicated that the Dutch boss man was in for an enthralling entry. After the perfect introduction by MC Ambush, the music slowly progressed and the tempo of the flashing lights kept increasing a notch and the roar from the crowd just became deafening as Afrojack finally emerged and the music blasted through the speakers sending the crowd into a tizzy.
Nick Destroyed Everything In His Path
Afrojack played out a colossal set full of bangers and the audience was definitely JACKED. His track selection varied from his own alias NLW to his other hard hitters like “Freedom” with D-Wayne, “What We Live For” with Bassjackers and his remixes for Thirty Seconds To Mars’ track “Do Or Die”, Karim Mika & Daniel Forster’s “Crunk” and notably his crazy remix for his already massive collaborative track with David Guetta for “Hey Mama”. While ruthlessly dropping some insane stuff, he smoothly transitioned to the track of the year as well all know “Lean On” which was accepted with open arms by the crowd and was an instant favorite and quickly switched from chill mode to heavy hitters yet again with his other tracks like “Unstoppable”, his remix for #1 duo’s track “Higher Place” and even dropped the heavy track “Don’t Stop The Madness” by Hardwell and W&W. Notably he had tons of exclusive music packed as he dropped a huge collaboration between him and Hardwell which we hope sees the light of day soon enough.
He Took The Crowd For A Serious Throwback
No Afrojack set is complete without reliving his older tracks which bring back his signature electro bounce vibes and is something each and every fan loves. He treated us with his older productions like the quintessential banger “No Beef” with Steve Aoki to which CO2 guns exploded as well, “Rock The House” and the evergreen track “Wakanda” by current #1 duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike.
Ten Feet Tall Moment
Afrojack’s mega hit “Teen Feet Tall” served as the perfect track for a mesmerizing interaction between him and the crowd as he climbed up on the decks and the highly energetic crowd sang along zealously with the chorus and danced with elan marking it as one of the most memorable moments of an unforgettable night.
Afrojack Brought Out His Label Mates On Stage For An Epic Performance
The Delhi crowd were in for a special night as he brought singer Faisal for a live performance of their new track “Hey!” and it was nothing short of exceptional. With power packed vocals and an amazing melody, this track is bound to take over control. And during the latter half of his set, he even managed to bring out Ravitez and Apster for a warm crowd interaction as they did a full-fledged hand wave. And special mention to MC Ambush for maintaining the energy throughout the performance and interacting with the crowd in amazing fashion making him an integral part of the whole journey.
Afrojack’s Unconditional Love For India
We all knew Afrojack was overjoyed to be in India and perform for us all, and throughout the tour he was exceedingly vocal about his love for the country and his fans here through social media. He let us know about it as well stating his love for the crowd and informed that “I’ll be back soon”. We wish the same.
