It’s true that many of you in dance music community have known about Pete Tong as the popular host of BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix and Essential Selection, but what you were less informed about is that he is also an exceedingly talented producer himself. Tong donned the role of producer last September, collaborated with John Monkman and provided ‘The Bumps’, a classy deep house single that saw its light on Barcelona’s quality dance music label Suara. ‘The Bumps’ has now returned on the label with an equally alluring remix package.
Leading the pack is Moby who debuts on the label with his delicate and sophisticated deep house version of the original. Paralleling the energy of the original, Moby has provided a classy and a comfortable recital. Moby said of the remix:
So nice to finally collaborate with my old friend Pete Tong on this late night track!
Label head honcho Coyu is on the remix package too and delivers a dance-floor ready, melodic and even powerful interpretation of the original. Last remix comes from French talent Julien Jeweil who does an awesome cool revision of the track taking to techno sides. Having received support from big names like Agoria, Adam Beyer, Reboot, Kaiserdisco, Marco Bailey, Dave Seaman and many more, ‘The Bumps’ remix EP is a must have this fall.
