In a statement that won’t go down with dance music purists very well, Axwell /\ Ingrosso have labelled underground dance music ‘amateur’. Talking to New York Times for an interview, Sebastian Ingrosso said “Underground dance music — in the nicest way possible — it’s amateur“, while speaking of EDM, said “It’s too big to be a bubble.”
Now, both Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso have extremely successful careers, boasting of massive hits, both individually and in groups (Swedish House Mafia and now Axwell /\ Ingrosso), but the irony of the situation here is both of them started out with producing music during early 2000, duting the Euro underground House movement which gave them their break as producers and DJs.
What remains to be seen now is how underground dance music producers react to these statements by Axwell /\ Ingrosso.
