After attracting obscene amount of coverage in the past few months, these two artists and their latest venture needs no introduction. Having performed together for the first time at Ultra Music Festival in 2014, the mega duo comprising of Diplo and Skrillex has created enough excitement and has got everyone craving for their debut album. Wait no more guys. ‘Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü’ has finally hit the shelves leaving it upto us to decide if the wait was worth all the hype after all.
In case you aren’t a huge fan of small skits that kicked off many of the rap songs of the 90’s, ‘Dont Do Drugs Just Take Some Jack Ü’ might be a bummer. With unclear vocals and a slow bassline, this track might not have been the best choice to pump up the atmosphere and most definitely seems like a wrong step forward for ‘Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü’. With this album being a great exhibit of Jack Ü’s collaborative efforts, ‘Beats Knockin’ featuring Fly Boi Keno takes the stage up next. Showing off Diplo’s signature production style, this track is sure to spice things up. Dominated by Fly Boi Keno’s rough yet powerful vocals alongside a thumping bassline, this energy booster sets everything right in the Jack Ü world once again. Next up is ‘Take Ü There’ disguised in Keisza’s melodious vocals. Being Diplo and Skrillex’s first project as a team, almost everyone is familiar with this track. With a beginning which is good enough to give you the chills, this track is rather deceiving as it soon translates into plenty of ground breaking drops. Not that we are complaining!
