If there’s anything we’ve learnt in the last 1-2 years it’s that Electronic Dance Music has taken the world by storm and so have crowd funding websites that foster creative thinking into real tangible ideas. It wasn’t long till someone started a ‘Kickstarter’ centred around the ever big and ever growing EDM industry.

A startup in Rotterdam, Netherlands (Surprise surprise) has started taking orders for their ground-breaking product called Tuna Knobs. Tuna Knobs helps DJs function and play in their shows seamlessly from their iPads. Essentially Tuna Knobs are small dials that attach to the surface of the iPad and act as a radial stylus. What’s cool is that these rubber dials do not activate unless the DJ’s fingers are on it, after which they respond to even the lightest of touches. The rubber grips rotate around a central axis, which is aligned with the onscreen dial.

With Apple stating that they want to focus on promoting music production and DJ-ing using the iPad as a primary tool, it will come as no surprise if Tuna Knobs indeed gets the positive reception they are expecting to receive. The guys at Tuna Knobs state that their product will give the DJs the control and feel that they are used to while increasing the portability and ease of convenience offered by DJing via the iPad. The knobs can be used with Apps such as Korg Ims-20, iDJ2GO and TouchAble. You can research and purchase the Tuna Knobs here.
