Is that a priest behind the console dropping beats even more lethal than the drug you’re never going to try?” is probably a question that comes to one’s mind when they first see Tchami mixing live. Even though very little is known about the life of this mysterious French DJ/producer who dons an attire of a priest, one can recognize him as the preacher of what he calls ‘Future House’.

Hailing from Paris, Martin Bresso is on a quest to carve out the future of house music and is stirring the winds of change right beneath our noses. Bresso inherited his stage name ‘Tchami’ while he was travelling in Africa. “I used to travel a lot across Europe and Africa these past five years. Tchami is a name that has been given to me in Africa which is an honor. Fortunately it sounded catchy to me, so I kept it. That’s all folks.”

The French prodigy first caught the world in frenzy with his remix of Janet Jackson’s “Go Deep” in 2013. The world appreciated the entrée of this new Parisian into the electronic music world who tagged his music as ‘#Future House’ and curated tunes like they were never heard before.tchami4

Not only is Tchami an ace producer but the man is also a master behind the DJing console. He has a knack of judging the audience’s mood and controlling the vibe in his set. It’s probably for the same reason that Vice listed him as one of their “30 DJs to Watch in 2014”. 2014 was the year that surfaced Tchami as a breakthrough debutant, as he received support from eminent artists like Nick Catchdubs, Dillon Francis and Skrillex. The Parisian was also featured on Diplo‘s ‘Diplo and friends’, which made him garner quite a large number of new fans.

There’s a lot about Tchami that intrigues the world and one of them is his Soundcloud Headline that reads out ‘Can’t edit your soul’. When asked about the meaning behind this tricky phrase as his profile introduction, the DJ revealed that it was only a way to tell people that it was okay to not like Tchami or his music. The motive was to encourage genuine appreciation for the music and not to fall for hype, which is a much-needed message in today’s time, and that’s just one of the many reasons the world looks forward more of Tchami in 2015. The world really needs a man dressed as a priest, dropping sick tunes and preaching a message of genuine love for music.
