SFX Entertainment, one of the largest companies to play host to massive festivals such as Tomorrowland, Mysteryland, Sensation as well as Beatport has huge plans for 2015. According to the Wall Street Journal, SFX intends on re-launching Beatport with one mystery addition? What’s that? A brand new streaming service! Instead of just selling songs with short previews, the new site will feature an uninterrupted, free streaming service, which means the increased ability to listen to Beatport’s massive catalog of music whenever you like!
However, users will still be able to purchase music. The new Beatport’s online store will remain as is, however the only hurdle that needs to be addressed is the license attainment in order to stream music. Joining the race with competitors such as Spotify, Pandora and more, 2015 may just turn out to be an all important year for dance music.
