Known for giving a different experience to music since 1999, with over 500 million users worldwide, Shazam is an application that gives a name to songs and shows which one may not know otherwise. In the year 2014 with EDM scene just growing bigger and better, this application did not fail to give the much deserved recognition to this genre of music.

Shazam ranked the most “Shazam-ed” artists in US  in the year 2014 with John Legend, Katy Perry, Nico & Vinz, Ed Sheeran, Magic!, Jason Derulo, One Republic, Lorde, Disclosure and Iggy Azalea making it to the list. When reviewed on a global platform, David Guetta, Avicii, Clean Bandit and Calvin Harris also made an entry into this catalogue. “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne was recorded as the most shazam-ed track of this year. Kiesza’s “Hideaway” and “Prayer in C” by Lilly Wood and the Prick, remixed by Robin Schulz were also mentioned in the top 10 most shazamed tracks.

When asked about its predictions for the future, Shazam pointed out that 19 year old, Oliver Heldens and French DJ, Tchami  have the potential to reach greater heights of dance music stardom thus anticipating these two artists to be the most listened to artists in the coming year.
