First off, the answer to the question playing in your minds- No, Skrillex is not ZHU. Why the speculation and rife though? Well, apparently at the end of ZHU’s set at Stereosonic Brisbane, he finished off with his hit track ‘Faded’, following which he mixed it into ‘My Name Is Skrillex’. Ironically, Sonny appeared right then saying, “thank you so much. I hope you like the ZHU projects!” People put two and two together and there you have it, Skrillex may have unknowingly pulled off the greatest troll ever.
We do think we’ve given rise to genuine cause for confusion, (especially with that headline above), but then again, no one’s confirmed anything. From what we know, ZHU a.k.a Steven Zhu is a young producer who has nothing to do with Skrillex. Also, ZHU’s been one of the most cryptic producers out there. Keeping mum about his identity, release dates et al, it’s just a part of his mysterious persona. Anyway, check out the closing moments of his set below!
