Above & Beyond have always been known for their emotional music. Right from their inception, it is not uncommon knowledge that they’ve always had a penchant for gorgeous, emotional music that always touches you right down the core. Their love for film scores comes through with almost all their productions. As a part of Robot Heart’s Heart & Soul sunset sessions, Tony and Paavo of Above & Beyond provided the soundtrack to a twilight yoga session led by instructor Elena Brower.
It is, without a doubt, one of the most serenely beautiful, breath-taking sets we’ve ever heard. Right from start to finish, they take you on a journey, doing what they to best. A journey that will help you rediscover yourself, a journey that will awaken your senses, a journey that you could easily get lost in. Touching the deepest corners of your core, moving it and sending chills down your spine, this set would have such a vast affect on anyone who would listen. The track selection, the spine-tingling composition, everything works together in unison, to give you an aural explosion that is, without a doubt, a sensory overload. Featuring musical masterpieces by Jon Hopkins, Peter Gabriel, Andrew Bayer, and themselves, it is truly something that you’ve never heard before.
If you aren’t physically and emotionally moved by the end it, you’re probably not of this earth. We were reduced to a pile mushy emotions when we heard it. As Above & Beyond have rightly described it, “This class reminds us that we are never alone, and that no matter where we are, we are on the path, and right at home.”
