Electronic dance music long time veteran Paul Oakenfold has returned on his own label Perfecto Records with a fresh vocal production entitled ‘You Could Be Happy’ styled from Angela McCluskey. While the original mix goes down a more Dubstep route, the rest of the package spans sub-genres including Trance and Progressive House takes.
First off the package is Art Deko’s version that helices into progressive house territory with a melody that is reminiscent of an old school SHM style which is pretty interesting to listen to. Disfunktion offer the remix in their signature progressive house way which is even more tilted to the melodic side with its driving force, and also comprises of technically sound elements in the synth shaping. Wrapping up the package is Shadow of Two’s emotively absorbing remix which lies in the lower lands of the tempo scale and serves up the trance side of the release well enough.
