SoundCloud pays tribute to the fall of the Berlin Wall

SoundCloud’s been quite in the limelight in recent days, for various reasons. From signing a deal with Warner Music Group to running into altercations with NMPA, the buzz all over has been astonishing. This weekend however, the German based company paid tribute to its alma mater by hosting a seven and a half minute track acoustically representing the fall of the Berlin Wall a quarter of a century ago.

Also collaborating with Grey Advertising for the artsy side of it, every detail about the track however, is symbolically inserted. A few key points are the length of the track is exactly how long it takes to travel the entire. Not only that, every comment is a tribute to those 120 victims that died at the wall. A hauntingly remorseful sound scape comprised of barking dogs, German soldier’s radio conversations, aircraft noises and guns firing, this is indeed, a fine homage.
