Ontario born Christopher van den Hoef and Alexandre van den Hoef, aka DVBBS have played alongside heavyweights like Tiësto, Steve Aoki, MSTRKRFT, LMFAO, Calvin Harris, Deadmau5, and more.
The duo has been best known for their collaboration with Borgeous, ‘Tsunami'; the track sky rocketed to the top of Beatport top 100 charts and stayed put a while. The success that came from such a massive banger, was only to push them further into the limelight. Ever since, we have seen DVBBS come out with explosive hits one after the other. Their most recent collaboration ‘Deja Vu’, with ‘Arcadia’ star Joey Dale ft. Delora, was released on Spinnin’ Records this month. The adrenaline spikes and the raging kicks on this one are definitely why everyone loves a DVBBS track.
Initially, the duo made reggae and punk before focusing mainly on electronic music. In the early stages, the siblings joined forces with DJ Martin Sinotte, calling themselves Dubbs. In 2010, the group released the Generation Party EP and went on to tour with the likes of Steve Aoki and LMFAO. Sinotte left the group in 2012, prompting the brothers to change their name slightly from Dubbs to Dvbbs. Under the new name, they released the EP Initio, fusing a variety of influences in house, electro, reggae, and dub. Their first major success came in 2013 with the track “Tsunami,” a collaboration with the DJ and producer Borgeous, released on Sander van Doorn’s label Doorn Records. The single went to the top of the Dutch charts and was also a major success in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, climbing into the Top 20.
Following up the success of ‘TSUNAMI’, they collaborated with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike as well as Borgeous on ‘STAMPEDE’ which also went reached #1 on Beatport.
