Many consider former The Doors front man Jim Morrison to be a visionary besides being one of the greatest singer-songwriters-performers of all time. Regarded as an icon of the latter part of the 20th century, his lifestyle and body of work represent generational gap and youth counterculture. And being the visionary that he was regarded to be, Morrison had accurately predicted the use of electronic elements and “machines’ in music making, that would revolutionize music, even allowing a single performer to perform in front of an audience. Sounds all too familiar, doesn’t it?! Nearly 40 years before its time, Morrison predicted the EDM revolution that we are witnessing today!
Interestingly, post his demise, the surviving members of The Doors got together with today’s youth icon Skrillex on one of his recent productions ‘Breakin A Sweat’. The track saw a phenomenal response, both critically and commercially, and responded with a short documentary on its making, where the members discuss the famous prediction by Morrison.
