SoundCloud’s New Office Is A Work Heaven

The company has been making music streaming easily accessible and hassle free for its 250 million active listeners since 2007. As SoundCloud’s eminence in the music world grows at a rapid pace today, so does the number of staffers who help the company live up to its name, and its for the same reason that SoundCloud has anchored a brand new start-up office in Berlin’s bustling ‘Factory’.

The 16,000 square-meter office is the first of its kind to be ready for operation in the upcoming tech-hub of Berlin. Spreading over 3 stories, the office can accommodate more than 170 people. Ending the curiosity of what makes this start-up space so special, it is the way the office has been designed to get the creative juices flowing in every corner of the building.

The office offers fascinating niches that include a special room being SoundCloud’s very own recording studio. “Many of our employees record their own music. We want to offer them to do so in here to get the best results and express their musical creativity,” said Kelly Robinson the designer of this office in co-operation with Kinzo Berlin. ”The recording room also leaves many options for events and community purposes.”

Apart from this, the office accommodates a fancy nap room to ease the jet lagged/overworked employees. There are candles put in the room which if not lit means people can come in and work in silence but if they’re lit, it’s a sign to not disturb a person enjoying his siesta.

Other interesting expanses in the office include a green room for greenery, a comfortable, cozy living room consisting of fire wood and quilted booths for rest. Another amusing fact about this office is that it has rooms named after districts of Berlin, London, New York and San Francisco which are all inscribed in neon blue signs in the respective rooms.
