They must be putting something special in the food of all the Dutch countries; because every producer DJ coming out from there is a powerhouse of talent. Take MOTi for example, and no, his name doesn’t have anything to do with the Indian meaning. Rather, the origin of his stage name is something a little more simplistic. He just took his first name and shuffled it up a bit. So Timo Romme became MOTi and his journey began.

As a young child Timo would listen to Pop and House for Smurfs, and as he grew up, his tastes ranged from Hardcore to Hip Hop. When you have such an eclectic taste in music, it has to come through in your sound. And that is precisely what makes MOTi such a pleasure to listen to. It’s been a year since his first single, “Circuits” with Quintino, which hit the #12 position on the Beatport Electro House chart, and became the official “Turn Up The Beach Anthem” of Hollands leading radio station Radio 538. After that we were graced with “Krack“, which was Electro House at its finest and bass – heaviest, and MOTi was only rising up higher and higher. Since then, one of his songs was featured on a non-profit compilation CD that Tiesto mixed for DANCE (RED) SAVE LIVES and their relationship has only snowballed since then. They collaborated on the track “Back To The Acid“, which combines both their signature pops and drops perfectly to create an energetic amalgamation of sounds.

But MOTi hasn’t restricted himself to only House music. He stayed true to his roots and his ‘Hello‘ remix for the Stafford Brothers ft. Lil Wayne was at an all time high on the Hip Hop charts. With successful songs on Afrojacks Wall Recordings as well as Tiestos record label, MOTi has lent his absolutely phat tunes to every big name out there. He has received support from the likes of David Guetta, R3hab, and Dada Life to name a few, which has only helped him further carve out a niche for himself. This year has been iconic for the Dutch superstar already, as he kicked it off at the Winter Music Conference, at the Ultra Music Festival. India welcomes MOTis‘ moti sounds and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us!
