Capital Cities – Safe & Sound (Markus Schulz vs Grube & Hovsepian Remix)

The remix battle between trance-legend Markus Schulz and the frightening EDM duo Grube & Hovsepian has reincarnated a gigantic and noteworthy club anthem of the indie-pop record, ‘Safe and Sound’ released by Capital Cities back in 2011. The remix marks the first release from Markus Schulz since the Unicorn Slayer’s fifth artist album ‘Scream 2? that came out earlier this year on Armada Music.

His return with ‘Scream 2’ saw him pushing boundaries and pouring heart and soul into an album that is simply outstanding. With his busy-bee schedule always overhead, it’s astonishing to believe that legend does get time for such innovative ideas as well in the studio.

World premiered by himself and Ferry Corsten under their New World Punx project at ASOT 650 Utrecht in Netherland, the remix has finally landed on Capitol Records. The record which had previously made its way around the live event circuit with crowd-pleasing versions from the likes of Dzeko & Torres and Henrix carries the vocals up on trance for the first time. The joint effort takes Capital Cities to a trancier stature with climactic synth work that has lifted up the main vocals into a dark and deep breakdown with very obvious essence of his native imprint Coldharbour.
