We’re all very familiar about the entire Aiden Jude fiasco, and the fact that this 10 year old, whose track Tonight had been released on beatport, actually enlisted the help of a Ghost Producer. But here’s where things take an unexpected, and deliciously intriguing turn.
In a recent press release by Universal Music Publishing, it was revealed that Carlos Escalona, a producer and songwriter who has won a BMI Latin Award in the past, co-wrote the song with the recording artist, Nafsica for Aiden.
Seeing that someone “co-wrote” the song raises eyebrows, and has many thinking that Carlos did more than “write the song.” In a series of twitter Q&A’s between EDM blog Do Androids Dance, and upcoming documentary Waiting For The Drop. A surprising turn of events had occurred.
guys, @DoAndroidsDance @EDMsauce @YourEDM @LessThan3 thanks 4 the love, but as trusted blogs, check ur facts #Hardwell #MartinGarrix

Further more, Carlos tweeted the following:
FYI @DoAndroidsDance @EDMsauce @YourEDM @LessThan3 @waitingftdrop guys, I'm not @DJAidenJude producer, please check your facts.

@DoAndroidsDance @EDMsauce @YourEDM @LessThan3 @DJAidenJude songwriting, actually he showed me his Logic session before we tracked vocals
— Carlos Escalona Cruz (@HitMusic21) April 25, 2014
@DoAndroidsDance he made the track and @nafsicasinger I I wrote the song with him, he is a real producer not a songwriter.

@waitingftdrop @DoAndroidsDance @EDMsauce @YourEDM @LessThan3 @DJAidenJude we made some changes that he asked in the estudio

@DoAndroidsDance to be honest, I couldn't believe at the beginning but I asked some questions about production and synths, he knows about it
— Carlos Escalona Cruz (@HitMusic21) April 25, 2014
@waitingftdrop @DoAndroidsDance @EDMsauce @YourEDM @LessThan3 @DJAidenJude because he didn't wrote, he just asked for changes and we rewrote
— Carlos Escalona Cruz (@HitMusic21) April 25, 2014
@DoAndroidsDance @waitingftdrop I did not produce it, I just wrote the son with @nafsicasinger the rest is @DJAidenJude

Furthermore, the guys at Waiting For The Drop interviewed Aiden Jude about these accusations, and Aiden Jude completely denies them. He is of the opinion that there is always more than just one person when it comes to the final product of the track. “No one does the producing, the mixing and the mastering by themselves” is what he has to say.
Waiting For The Drop even spoke to the lawyers regarding the controversial press release, to which the law firm responded by saying it is not sure if there’s a contract laying out there that definitively outlines who did what.
So where exactly does this leave us? Is Ghost Producing OK when cloaked by such a fine loophole? Or is this just an elaborate publicity stunt for the EDM community to take notice of the young producer?
Well, the rumour mill might only be put to rest once we can Aiden himself work on a track from scratch.

I would believe he was capable of producing if he didn’t act exactly like a child. From his interview, you can clearly tell there’s nothing special about him. He doesn’t talk sophisticated, he doesn’t sound sophisticated, and his responses are ridiculous. If he’s actually talented, I’m all for the kid, but I seriously doubt it. It takes years of practice, dedication, and commitment to get to where “his” sound reflects. If he did produce it entirely on his own, kudos, but from his overall appearance it seems very unlikely.
